BE ANGRY
BE ANGRY!!!
The amount of pain and pity I feel when I see people who are
very old and at the same time very poor is unfathomable. As a reflex, I imagine
how depressing it must have been for someone who was born poor, to have lived
poor and died poor.
At Abakpa in Enugu state, Nigeria, I saw a poor old man come
out of one of the most wretched and dirtiest open restaurants I've seen and he
was passionately drooling. Apparently he had eaten the best meal of his life. I
felt bad. He probably doesn't know about KFC, Chicken Republic, Mr Biggs, celebrities
etc. yet he felt so amazing. After a brief introspection, I realized that
he was probably born poor, has poor kids and may soon die poor if care isn't taken.
His children may still end up poor and birth poor kids. But what would be his
excuse for dying poor? Because he also had poor parents? RUBBISH.
I've spoken to youths in several platforms and when I ask,
"how many of you want to end up like your parents?” the answer is the
same, none of them wants to end up like their lovely parents. Funny enough,
most of our parents never wanted to end up like their own parents. But then I
doubt that Bill Gate's children wouldn't want to end up as the richest man in
the world like him. But then who were Bill Gate's parents? Nobodies I guess.
Why is Bill Gate more than just anybody? It's simple, HE GOT ANGRY. He didn't want to repeat the same errors he was born
to correct. He was born poor but he didn't want to die poor. He discovered and
explored himself...
Guys;
- Stop making excuses for
your condition and stop wishful thinking, success pays no man a voluntary
visit, you deliberately pursue it (Proverbs 13:4, 20:4).
- Get angry with your
situation and work your way out of it. Most first class scholars I know
came from wretched families, but they were determined to escape it hence
hardwork (Proverbs 22:9).
- Your parents may not have
given you the best but your own kids deserve the best.
- The path to success is
full of Huddles, it's never fun and may be prolonged but if you persist,
you cannot die poor (Galatians 6:9).
- God has put everything you
need to succeed in you or around you. There is something you have; your brain,
mouth, hand, looks, pretty face, personality, sense of humour,
relationships etc. Every man has a talent or gifting and that's what you
need to succeed (Proverbs 18:16, Matthew 25:16).
- God gives us gifts, but
it's our responsibility to stir and develop it. Who told you that you talk
so much to make noise? You are a public speaker, develop it. Who told you
draw so much to get an 'A' in biology? You are a potential artist. Develop
it, train, learn more, get tutored etc. (2nd Timothy 1:6).
- Money is the reward for
value added; inform of goods or services. Prayer alone won't get you
money. Many prayer warriors are poor. God will bless the works of your
hand and not the prayers of your mouth. Give God something to bless (Deuteronomy
28:12).
- THERE IS A GOD, DON'T
FORGET HIM. He can give you grace, power and speed to make wealth (Deuteronomy
8:18, 2nd Corinthians 8:9).
While people are busy making money,
make sure you are not busy crying about the economy. You can get very busy
creating your own wealth.
I refuse to be
poor, see you at the top!
