IF GOD DIDN’T EXIST

If God didn’t exist
There would be no heaven or hell
The earth would be man’s final destination
The government of man would be the final authority
But is that a blessing or doom?

If God didn’t exist
Our greatest hopes will be on men
And on a government controlled by the same men
They will oppress us in their usual selfishness
But isn’t that a sorry-state of hopelessness?

If God didn’t exist
We would all easily be felons or delinquents
God sees even when we don’t see ourselves
But Govt can’t see us all, even with CCTV cameras
But isn’t that the beginning of doomsday?

If God didn’t exist
Missionaries won’t exist
We would all still be killing twins and albinos
And burying our kings with human heads
But doesn’t that make barbarism normalcy?

If God didn’t exist
No one would need to pray to a God of justice
We would all fight our battles our way
We could all be terrorists
Wouldn’t that make everyday a world war?

If God didn’t exist
Our conscience would be dead
Breaking hearts would be normal
Empathy and guilt would become a luxury
Morality would cease to exist!

If God didn’t exist
Preachers won’t exist
The righteous won’t exist
Sinners would abound
Society would become ungovernable!

If God didn’t exist
Jesus Christ wouldn’t set the example
Sons would emulate their fathers
And daughters their mothers
The cycle of corruption continues!

If God didn’t exist
Our leaders needn’t be sworn into power
They’d swear to themselves
Power would become absolute
We would live in tyranny!

If God didn’t exist
Yes, we will have all the sex and alcohol
But we will also rape all the rapes
And commit all the adulteries
Our hormones will be our God!

If God didn’t exist
Then there would be no eternal damnation
Why then should I be considerate and humane?
Why shouldn’t I just satisfy myself regardless?
I’d take self-gratification; not self-control!

God is the reason for the available peace and order!
He is the reason for the selfless love!
He is the invincible force behind civil society!
Even if God didn’t exist,
Humanity needs him to exist!!!

At least, we are sure of our existence. So who could be God? If life begets life, then,existence begets exixtence. We existing have no doubt that we are derivatives from another existents. What could be the first existent from which other existents derived their exixtence?
This question is quite instinctual and does stimulates series of thoughts, thinking and rethinking, conceptualization and reconceptualization yielding answers from different perspectives. However, whatsoever eventually becomes our respective opinions and in any way we might have expressed our understanding we may all agree with an enduring fact. The fact is that if the first existent doesn't exist, could any other derived existence of any existent exist?

Popular Nigerian hip-hop artist, D’prince in his hit track “Goody Bag” popularized the concept of ‘Selling Point”. According to him, everyone needed a selling point. He identified his wealth and his Banana as his own selling points-that’s why ladies rush him.
